I have waited a good while to write this note of appreciation to you. I wanted to be sure that I was not being unduly solicitous in my expression of respect and gratitude. It has been about 7-8 months now since I first visited your Hearing Center in Fair Lawn. As you know, I had previously visited many different types of hearing professionals in my quest for better hearing, or perhaps more properly, my quest to learn what amount of hearing I might re-acquire. I visited physicians who specialized in hearing disorders (and their suggested vendors). I visited ‘discount’ providers as well as other hearing specialty stores, like yours. I had just about decided that I was not going to use any hearing device because I did not really experience any wide-ranging benefit from the devices I tried, except for narrow applications, i.e., hearing conversations in noisy restaurants. Of course, my family told me that I needed to do something, but I did not know what to do.When my daughter suggested that I speak with her friend, Marsha Rolnick, who has worked with senior citizens professionally for a long time, I was reticent. Finally I spoke with Marsha and she recommended you and Dan very highly. I just spent some time with Marsha and her family and I told her how much I respect her suggestion. The time and effort you put into testing various types of devices and the variety of manufacturers we tried was incredible to me. Additionally, the hours you spent in testing and adjusting the devices we finally decided on was further impressive to me. I certainly would not have known to ask for this amount of fine-tuning. Your “Real Ear” testing approach was very important in helping me.
Please know that I value your service, professionalism and KINDNESS hugely. I will be happy to tell any of your potential clients, at any time, how and why you have earned my business and respect. Good evidence of my appreciation is that I have introduced a dear friend to your service recently and he is also very happy. I expect my brother will be visiting soon.

Exceptionally Helpful
After discussing with a friend of mine how very dissatisfied I was with my Hearing Aid provider, he recommended that I contact Ahrens Hearing Center. This was likely the best advice my long time friend ever provided to me. I have worn hearing aids for many years and I can whole heartedly attest that Cathi, owner of Ahrens Hearing Center, is one of the best hearing professionals I have ever gone to as well as the most caring.

Competent and Caring Service
As a college professor whose job critically depends on hearing my students in the classroom as well as my colleagues in various forums, I have been thoroughly satisfied with the competent and caring service at the Ahrens Hearing Aid Center. In fact, now I am into the second generation of Ahrens (now Catherine Ahrens-Berke and Daniel Berke) that allow me to have emergency appointments in their busy schedule and keep me abreast of the latest changes in hearing aid technology. Cathi is always meticulous in adjusting my hearing specifications to new instruments that are developed and allows for multi-visits to ensure that adjustments are precise and the aids are comfortable. If by chance, aids need repairing or replacement, the center lends you its stand-bys, so you don’t lose time in your daily life or in your profession. I wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend the Ahrens Hearing Aid Center. For me it has been more like family instead of business relationship.
Completely Satisfied
For many years I was left out of the conversations and had trouble understanding my granddaughters and others. I had heard many sad stories from friends and relaitves about unhappy experiences with hearing aids, but I thought it was time to try. I looked on the internet and found a website that has been family run for many years, Ahrens Hearing AId Center. The site showed pictures with a back round of all. I decided to stop in and talk. When I entered the door, I knew everyone’s name. I sat down with the owner Cathi, what a charmer. We went over my budget and other needs. Then I took the free hearing test, which was quite the test. Catherine showed me my exact hearing loss and went over my options. I chose a model which now has three settings. One for normal (I heard nature I have not heard for years), number two to help stop background noise in a crowd and number three to hear a low volume TV setting. I now insert the aids first thing in the morning and most of the time I do not feel them. Every few months you stop in for a quick check and a supply of FREE batteries. If anyone is even thinking of hearing aids, you better first stop in and see Catherine and gang. I guarantee you will be completely satisfied, as I am. Take it from an old vet!
They Helped Me Hear Again
I had a hearing loss, until I went to Ahrens Hearing Center. They helped me to hear again. The people are wonderful, kind, and helpful and took great care in helping me. Cathi recommended the Widex brand of hearing aids and they are a wonderful product. I would recommend Ahrens to anyone I know who need help hearing again.

I obtained my first pair of hearing aids from Ahrens 15 years ago and replaced just replaced them with a new pair from them this year (2012). Very Knowledgeable
I became acquainted with Mr. & Mrs. Ahrens almost 25 years ago having been referred to them by a friend with a hearing loss. This friend had researched many audiologists in the area and told me that Ahrens were the best, and he was right. From them I bought my first hearing aid and it was a great sensation to be able to hear better as I had suffered hearing loss at an early age and it continued to get worse with age. But more than that, I found Mr. & Mrs. Ahrens to be the most kind, thoughtful, and caring people to deal with my problem. They were extremely generous to me; always willing to upgrade my device when they felt needed it. It was a great personal loss to me when they died. I felt I had lost dear friends.
With her parents’ passing, I now deal with their daughter, Cathi Ahrens Berke. She is one lucky person as she inherited not only the business but her parents’ personal touch and their expertise. In addition she is also very knowledgeable in dealing with the new digital aids. This is a real plus for those of us who want to hear well. I worked for Catholic Family Services in Paterson for 31 years and transported many senior clients to Ahrens Hearing Aid Center when it was owned by Mr. Ahrens. I was always impressed with his patience and how very good he was with his patients. Later on, when I needed help, I naturally went to him and purchased my first hearing aid. My brother and sister also bought their hearing aids from Ahrens. The devices were easy to use and he was always willing to answer any questions and help any way.When he passed away, his wife took over the business and she was equally as good with the clients. Her daughter, Cathi Berke and grandson, Daniel have followed the family “tradition” of servicing their customer with expertise and great customer service. I have been going to them for many years, they always work diligently to find me the device that is best suited for me and I am always pleased with the level of their customer service. They take time with all their customers and do whatever is necessary to help that customer hear properly.

Now Able to Lead a Normal Life
My mother-in-law had severe hearing problems since she was a teenage girl. For many years she went without the correct hearing aid she needed until 1968 when she found the Ahrens Hearing Aid Center. With caring attention and the knowledge of the correct hearing aid she soon was able to lead a normal life. In 1988 it was my turn to have a hearing problem, but with my knowledge of what the Ahrens Hearing Aid Center could do I got the same caring attention and knowledge of the latest hearing aids available as my mother-in-law received 20 years earlier. I too am now able to lead a normal life.
